I am approaching the later years of my career and Bowen has helped my body to recover quicker after games and intense training. It's great.
Jamie Peacock

Although sceptical prior to receiving Bowen treatment the effects have been nothing but positive. Following competition it is extremely effective at relieving the tension and improving recovery in the neck and upper back areas.

Lee Smith - Leeds Rhinos Rugby

I have been receiving treatment for around a year and the benefits from it have been that I feel relaxed mentally also more supple and I have a greater range of movement.

Bowen Treatment for Sports Performance and Sports Injuries

Unless you were flattened by a row of forwards or hit by someone else’s javelin, chances are your injury was no accident but rather an accident waiting to happen!

Overcompensation and soft tissue “holding patterns” by the body due to old injuries, or bad postural allignment due to countless other factors will lead to an unbalanced and structurally “unsafe” sportsman/woman.

Throw in high stress and anxiety levels at a high competitive level and you have the perfect recipe for disaster!

The Bowen Technique can:

  • Address and improve the body’s ability to allow for maximum stability and balance during movement, thereby preventing injuries;
  • Speed up post-match recovery (who needs an ice bath!) and post-injury recovery;
  • Be used in the event of acute injuries (even on the field treatment) because it does not rely on any deep tissue techniques to achieve the required results and can therefore be used over swollen areas. In fact, it will help to reduce swelling;
  • Break bad sleeping patterns, leading to elevated energy levels;
  • Improve breathing, which can lead to improved oxygen absorption, leading to improved performance;
  • Calm pre-match “jitters” or “butterflies”;
